This section of our website attempts to answer
our most frequently asked question. If you can't find the answer
to your question from the list below, please
contact us.
How does it work?
Before you order with Designer Specs, you will need to have
a copy of your prescription unless you intend only to purchase
the frames. You can use a prescription as long as it is less
than two years old. If you don't have a valid prescription then
you will need to visit your local optician to obtain a new
prescription. Obviously, you don't want to purchase any glasses
from the optician but make sure you obtain a copy of the
prescription. Then, place your order online. Once your order has
been placed you will need to forward a copy of your prescription
to us. You can do this by email, phone, fax or mail.
How can you charge such low prices?
We don't have high street stores or expensive equipment to
run. We don't have to employ experts to offer advice. Therefore
our overheads are far lower so we can afford to lower our costs.
How long does delivery of my order take?
We will start to process your order as soon as we receive
it. It takes us around 7 days to make up your order and get it
delivered to you. This is our average turnaround but should be
no more than 10-14 days depending on your order (adding tints
and extra coatings will take longer).
What are the postage and packaging charges?
Nothing. The price you see includes all delivery and
packaging charges. We do not hide any figures - the price you
see is the price you pay.
How can I pay for my order?
We accept all major credit and debit cards, cheques, postal
orders, Paypal and Nochex.
Can I view the frames before placing an order
for the lenses?
Yes. Simply buy the frames and make sure you're happy with
them first. If you're satisfied with the frames, then send them
back to us and we'll fit the lenses for you. Once lenses have
been made and fitted, we cannot accept returns.
